My love for yoga started when I began attending classes at a local gym and over the 3 years that I took classes there, I became more and more interested in it, buying books and DVDs and venturing into Johannesburg on weekends to do different kinds of classes.

I enjoyed yoga so much and felt it helped me in my daily life; I became calmer, my anxiety disappeared and I grew spiritually. I felt a deep sense of inner peace.
Soon, I couldn’t go a week without my yoga. I felt that I was more balanced with yoga in my life. That’s when I decided that I was going to bring yoga to our town, Vereeniging, because I wanted to share the amazing benefits I had felt from doing yoga with others, so I decided to go to Thailand and learn how to be a yoga teacher.
I studied yoga full time for 3 months under Michel Bresnard in 2009 to become a qualified Vinyasa yoga teacher so that I could have the freedom to do yoga whenever I wanted and to teach others about how yoga can challenge you and push you out of your comfort zone. Once you’re out there, your life unfolds in ways you’d never imagine!
Yoga is a part of my life now. It’s ingrained in me and has changed my life for the better. I have met many wonderful people over the years, some of whom are now my closest friends.
I am looking to do more teacher training courses that I can bring some new and exciting yoga asanas home to my students.
